What better day than St. Patty's to tap our Irish Stout Collabrewation with Barley's Brewing Company. Collar & Elbow was brewed at Sideswipe Brewing with Barley's Brewing Company's house yeast by Craig O'Herron and Angelo Signorino. We think you are really in for something special. Get lucky and get a pint, or two. Schmidts Sausage Truck will be onsite from 4-9pm.
Dominic Kirchgessner is leaving us, and while we are going to miss him we want to send him off in style. Dom has been with us since 2014. During this time Dom has worked in almost every capacity a brewery could ask for. From keg washer to brewer. Dom even built the bar and stools you love to sit at and on while enjoying our beer. Dom will be staying in the craft beer industry as he continues to pursue his brew dreams. Be on the lookout for him at a new brewery coming to the central Ohio area this summer. Thanks for the Beers and Godspeed.
It's hard to believe that FOUR years have passed. It's been a wild ride and now here we are getting ready to host our 4th anniversary party! Earlier this summer we snagged a couple barrels from our friends at Middle West Spirits, and we're hoping to have something a little different on hand for you to try. This could be a bit of a peek into our future, as we continue to grow as a brewery.
Mark January 27th on your calendar. We'll crack the doors open at 2, and Fetty's Food Truck will hold court from 2-6. They're a popular food truck featuring South African street food, so we're really excited to have them. Schmidt's will round out the evening from 5-9 rocking their solid German fare.
This party is really about all of you. Without our loyal customers, none of this would be possible, so come on out to the taproom and hoist a pint to yourselves.
Sideswipe Brewing and Westgate Brews have come together to brew a special collaboration beer. As a team we were torn if we wanted it to be a dark and strong beer or strong and dark beer. After much debate we settled on a Belgian Dark Strong Ale. Westgate brews sent 4 of their members to help with the brew day. It was a challenging day of moving grain, eating donuts, moving more grain, eating pizza, adding some hops and some congratulatory beers. Come enjoy the rewards of our struggles and enjoy some awesome German food from the Schmidt's sausage truck.
Yoga. It's supposed to be good for you, but who wants to go to a studio and do all that stretching? Not us. So we brought the Yoga to the brewery, and if you're going to get up before 4pm on a Sunday, you might as well grab some donuts on the way in. Awesome donuts. Like from DK Diner, a place known for donuts (It's what the "D" stands for, by the way. The K might stand for karate, or something, but that's not important.). So we've got Yoga. We've got donuts. We've got beer. Does this make the Yoga any less good for you? No. Because Yoga is all about achieving balance, and harmony in your life. What's life with out donuts? What's life without beer? Close your eyes and picture it. Sucks, doesn't it? Now open your eyes, and buy a ticket, so you can begin your journey on a path to enlightenment that includes donuts and beer. 15 bucks for a donut, a pint, and perfectly aligned chakras? Namaste.
We will be offering tours of the brewery that talk about the brewing process, our history, our beers and some quirky insights into our space. Tour cost is $10, but includes a glass of beer of your choice and a pint glass to take home. Tour will be limited to 15 people with one tour at 4pm and one at 4:30pm. To sign up either tell the bartender at the taproom or email us at Sideswipebrewing@gmail.com.
We've collaborated with local band Mojoflo to create a new beer. Inspired by Mojoflo's hard hitting horns, seductive melodies this Hoppy Amber will be light and refreshing with a bold hoppy aroma and flavor. The beer will be release in bottles and on draft at the Sideswipe Taproom on July 1st, while Mojoflo rocks out in our shared parking lot.
